CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Broadway®, presented by the FSCJ Artist Series, returns to Jacksonville for its 14th year from Monday, June 16 – Friday, June 20, 2014 from 8:30AM – 5:00PM at the Wilson Center for the Arts! Camp Broadway® introduces young people aged 10 to 17 to the world of Broadway on-stage and behind the scenes. Campers work with Broadway directors, choreographers and musical directors to receive training in acting, scene study, improvisation, music theory, solo and ensemble singing, movement, and dance.

This five-day performing arts program offers each camper the opportunity to expand his or her creative talents, build self-esteem, learn the art of collaboration, and gain a fuller respect and understanding of musical theatre. No singing, dancing, or acting experience necessary - just a willingness to have fun and a curiosity about what happens on stage and behind the curtain!

CAMP FACILITIES: We feel that a camp experience should be one filed with the allure of living outdoors. Part of the experience is the soothing sounds of the Florida night. Our rustic cabins give the camper the perfect blend of the outdoor experience and a few comforts of home. Our cabins have 12-16 bunks, ceiling fans, power, storage shelves and a front porch. Teen campers enrolled in Camp Warrior live in more modern cabins complete with air conditioning, lofts, and a kitchenette. Bathhouses are located next to the cabin areas. Each bathhouse features toilets, sinks, and private shower stalls.

The flagship of our facilities is our newer 14,000 square foot activities center complete with 24 stall center isle barn, with tack rooms, wash bays, bathrooms and indoor skatepark. This 40 acre facility also houses our new high ropes challenge course designed by Project Adventure and our ATV track. Next to our activities center is our new camp office which includes a recording studio and comfortable, climate controlled activity room for Camp Warrior. An extensive renovation plan is in place over the next three years that will transform camp!

Another high point of Camp Indian Springs facilities is our natural fresh water spring. This natural wonder is over 40′ deep in some places! For most of the year the water flows clear and it always remains a refreshing 68 degrees. Indian Springs is internationally know as one of the best cave systems in the world to dive. Unfortunately we can’t offer this to our campers but we stay very busy catering to the divers in the off season. Tours can be arranged with Cave Connections.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Indian Springs, first established in 1965, is a fun-filled, action packed private summer resident camp for boys and girls ages 7-16. Located on 77 acres, camp is nestled beside the wooded springs of beautiful Wakulla Springs State Park amidst the Apalachicola and Wakulla Forest of North Florida. Indian Springs counselors are great role models who are focused on the needs of campers, both in the cabins and in classes. What makes Camp Indian Springs stand out above the rest is our 90% staff return rate. Unlike most other summer camps you will not find a staff search on our web site or a Craigslist ad seeking staff. This is due to our extensive C.I.T. (Counselor-In-Training) program and high staff retention rate. Growing a staff within creates a competitive and safe environment to select the best of the best. More than half the staff have been at camp five years or more. All counselors are carefully selected for their camp skills and must possess superb references. All staff must go through an intensive one week staff training which includes effective cabin leadership, teaching skills, emergency procedures, CPR, first aide and a parent to counselor open forum.

High Seas Adventure Camp on our 70 foot yacht. Campers will get the chance to be on the crew of a real yacht as they travel. They will also experience treasure hunts as well as ride jet skis, and use our yachter-slide.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our C.I.T. program is one of our most valued Camp Indian Springs program. This program is vital to the success of our camp. This is where we grow the future camp staff and world leaders of tomorrow. Our Counselor In Training program is the first step to become a camp staff member. The program is for campers age 15 to 17 who desire to become camp staff. The program is designed to teach young men and women to become productive leaders and staff members. A majority of the camp’s current staff have come up through our C.I.T. program.

C.I.T.s are placed in a younger cabin with a Senior and Junior counselor and have a vital role in cabin leadership. C.I.Ts also take a C.I.T. only class and assist in other classes throughout the day.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): We are open year round for group retreats, family camps, family reunions, and any other event possible.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We are open year-round for a tremendous and unforgettable experience for the whole family, school, sports team, or any other group! We have hosted countless retreat groups and they have all had incredibly memorable experiences. We're not talking teen camp counselors; these are professional musicians and educators who have performed with the likes of Duke Ellington, Bob Hope, Sammy Davis Junior, Mel Tormé, Johnny Mathis, Styx, Lawrence Welk, Dionne Warwick, and so many more household names, and won so many awards that they've had to put in additions just to hold them all.

Campers won't just practice, learn, and get one-to-one instruction at this camp; they'll have an opportunity to hone their performance skills and play with the seasoned pros, too. This is a dream camp experience for all aspiring musicians.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Weekly Jazz Jams and plenty of live performance opportunities. Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues Society also presents live musical acts throughout the year, hosts a full week of Jazz Fest every March, and raises funds to provide at least ten scholarships per year for talented young musicians pursuing a career in music.

Leader In Training- LIT
Entering 9th Grade
HADRACHA combines leadership training with a fun camp experience. LITs will work with campers and travel on field trips or participate in leadership and team building programs for 2 days. LITS will participate in mitzvah ("good deed") projects and trips. Additionally, one day will be spent at the JCC working on camp wide special events programming, and spending time with campers. An interview process and acceptance is required for admission into the LIT program. 25 Community Service hours will be awarded for each 4-week session.

Madrich CITs assist in camp groups and learn hands on skills as well as knowledge gained in leadership training sessions. A $100 stipend is given and 160 Community Service hours are awarded for each 4-week session. An interview is required for admission into the CIT program. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Unbeatables is the only Life Skills Training and Multi sports summer program in USA, created especially for children ages 5 to 14. We have a perfect combination between sports and fun activities with education in the 6 most important areas of the children's life: fitness and nutrition, social environment, family life, school success, interest exploration and emotional life. Our campers end their summer well equipped with : 1) effective tools to manage the most common situations that they may confront at their age 2) instruction and practice in the most popular and likable sports and 3) Having had lots of fun doing the most innovative camp activities.

We have an impeccable trajectory of 12 years, and on 2013 we were awarded as the Educational Program of the Year by the Minority Chamber of Commerce of USA.

Our qualifications for members differ depending on the job positions. Supervisors, Counselors, and Volunteers each have their own list of qualifications they must fulfill. In order to be part of our camp, all our staff goes through National recognized certifications, second-degree background checks and a very comprehensive training.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We have the only Life Skills Training in USA especially created for children 5 to 14 years old. We offer leadership and public speaking training to the group of age of 12 to 14 and the volunteers that work at the camp.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): As a part of our Unique Life Skills Training Camp Program, on weekly basis, we send parents information for them to continue reinforcing at home the information we offer to the children at the camp.

The team that is elected by members of that profession will be honored at the event and will be able to meet with the judges. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Chameleon at Markham Park is located at Shelters 5 & 7 in a beautiful lakefront area. The park has model airplane fields, nature trails, disc golf course, volleyball, racquetball, tennis courts and playgrounds for the children to enjoy in a wonderful natural setting!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Experienced, caring counselors are fully background screened. Many of the staff work as substitute teachers and after care counselors in local Broward County schools.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership Training program (CIT) available for campers entering 9th and 10th grades. Ability to earn community service hours needed for high school graduation.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have our own facility with classrooms and a 175 seat theatre in the Broward College campus. We have a classroom at the Galleria Mall. The students are rotated between theatre, movement, and craft activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each week has a unique theme that results is a showcase performance that will be filmed and streamed for campers’ families.

Our younger campers are encouraged to explore their imaginations and boost their self confidence through theatre games and other activities.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We offer theatre classes during the school year. Check our website - Our Camp Website Link: www.flct.org in June 2023 for offerings.

OTHER CAMP INFO: *8am-5:30pm: Extended hours are available via Before Care and After Care at an additional cost. Before Care is $7 day (8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.); After Care is $15/day (3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

Campers bring their own lunch and two snacks. Water bottles are suggested.
