Camp Doublecreek was founded in 1971 by Uncle Carter and Aunt Trudy, who wanted to give children, ages 4-14, of the greater Austin area, a place where they could thrive in the summers.​

We're proud to continue Uncle Carter and Aunt Trudy's dreams through encouraging, challenging, engaging, and inspiring our campers every single day. We accomplish these goals, by using a variety of summer camp activities lead by our supportive and caring staff. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our counselor in training program is the perfect way for ages 14-16 to learn what it takes to be a camp counselor. You'll get hands-on experience leading activities, working with children, and making lifelong friends. Plus, our experienced staff will be there to mentor and support you every step of the way. YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We offer a variety of activities that are individually crafted for each age group. From sports to arts and crafts, there's an activity here for every camper to enjoy. Swim lessons are provided for 3rd grade and younger to learn or improve their skills. Our rock wall, zipline, and low ropes course offer challenges for those looking to test their limits. And of course, we have plenty of dancing and arts and crafts for campers who want to express their creativity.

CAMP FACILITIES: The camp is located in Cowden Hall, which is the music building on campus which houses the Reynolds Auditorium, sound-proof practice rooms. An added feature is that we are an All-Steinway School! We have male and female dorms and a recreation/aerobic center.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: SMC is designed for singers and modern rock band instrumentalists. Our vocalist track will teach students proper breathing and singing techniques, using chorale, show tunes, and a cappella pieces. Our rock band track is created specifically to challenge singers and students on drums, piano/keys, ukulele, bass, acoustic, and electric guitar players.

Improv & Music Video Camp

Imagine being able to walk into any musical situation, pick up your instrument, and immediately jam along. That is the goal for Band Aid School of Music’s Summer Jam Improv Camp. The camp is open to all levels, styles and instruments, as we will take you from the origins of improvisation to applications for the modern musician. By the end of camp, you will have learned the scales, listening skills, and phrasing techniques that will enable you to jam with the best of them!

In the Music Video Camp attendees will shoot videos, learn camera techniques, editing, style, lighting, and more! Participants will be challenged to create new video concepts and be guided to produce and promote them on YouTube. Create a music video and premier it at our camp showcase.

CAMP FACILITIES: Natural stone cabins, swimming pool, newly resurfaced tennis courts, baseball/softball field, soccer and football field, dining hall, 2 large gyms, acres of Guadalupe river-front, rustic amphitheater and outdoor chapel.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our summer camps Rio Vista for boys and Sierra Vista for girls offer over 40 exciting and challenging activities that campers choose from. Every camper gets to choose 8 or 9 activities depending on the term that make up their personalized schedule. This allows each camper to focus on the activities and skills he/she is most interested in developing. Horseback Riding and Swimming classes are assigned according to skill level and some sports are also divided by age and skill level. We want campers to learn skills, and have fun in a safe supervised environment while interacting with other campers and staff. Classes are approximately one hour and campers will participate in two or three activities in the mornings depending on the term and two in the afternoons, alternating four or five on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and another four or five on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our 17 year olds who are too old to be a camper but not yet counselor age have the opportunity to join the C.I.T. Program where they will learn leadership skills, teaching ideas, and have a great time transitioning into counselors.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): We have two Family Weekends every April and would love for you to come! Activities include Ropes and Rappelling, Canoe/Kayak, Team Sports, Camp Fires, Vespers, Team Building Games, and much more.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Family Camps are weekend long events that bring the whole family together. Adults will have the opportunity to hear a speaker on a specific topic, while the children will participate in camp recreation activities. There will also be time for whole family activities. Additionally families will be able to enjoy time around the campfire getting to know other families.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Charis Hills offers 8 one week session from June through August. These sessions can be added together for up to three weeks of summer camp fun. Charis Hills additionally holds family camp weekends each year in the fall and spring.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Charis Hills is a non-denominational independent Christian camp. All are welcome! We do teach basic Christian principles but do not enter into denominational differences. Many who attend are not "churched" for multiple reasons. The founders are both masters level teachers with experience dealing with many different disabilities, some, for more years than they care to admit. This camp was built and program designed specifically to serve this population. We try to meet the campers where they are in their journey. We are "drumming to the beat of a different marcher". FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Associate CAP Intensive Director and Professor Becky Fredrickson will lead a session especially designed for parents to help them understand the ins and outs of the complicated college audition/application process. CPA & Certified Financial Planner Doug Bryan will present a seminar for parents on financial planning for college education. Both these are free to parents with their student's registration and are highly informative.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Over eight years, we have assisted students prepare for college auditions and seen dozens of camp alumni accepted to such prestigious programs as NYU Tisch, Pace, Belmont, CCM, Rider, Michigan, Oklahoma University, Oklahoma City University, Texas State U., Texas Tech, TCU, UT Arlington, Sam Houston State U., Samford U., University of Central Oklahoma, Abilene Christian U., and many more.

During camp, students will create their video pre-screens, headshots, work on song & monologue selection, resumes and application essays. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our Music Director for the camp will be our Children's Choir Director at Trinity, Anne Marie Harmon. Anne Marie currently is music/fine arts teacher at Moore Elementary School in Arlington and is also an associate director of the Arlington Children's Chorus. We are blessed to have her leading our camp, and we expect great things from the kids as she leads this week.

You'll perform at London historical and modern venues, participate in creative workshops, tour and perform at the Roundhouse Performing Arts Center, check out the impressive instrument collection at the Horniman Musuem, participate in a Musical Instruments around the World Workshop, attend a live showing of Stomp, enjoy a live performance at the Royal Albert Hall, embark on a Classic Rock & Beatles Sites tour of London, enjoy an evening of live music and a day trip to Stonehenge & Salisbury, enjoy lunch and free time wandering along vibrant Denmark Street in Soho, otherwise known as "Tin Pan Alley", explore the memorabilia and food at the Hard Rock Cafe, explore iconic venues like the 100 Club, which has hosted everyone from Mick Jagger to The Clash and The Sex Pistols and take the Rock n Roll Walk Tour to explore London's legendary back alleys. From the outside, it may look like it's all DJs and Spanish music, but dig deeper into the city and you'll find a wealth of locals rocking out at every type of venue to everything from Latin fusion to indie funk to slow jazz to hip-hop. Havana has a hugely diverse music scene, reflecting the generations of migrants and slaves brought here, each with their own musical culture. African rhythms and percussion have been molded with Spanish guitars and traditions to form genres like mambo, son Cubano, charanga, Cuban jazz, habanera, and cha-cha-cha. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This year we will again bring guest faculty from around the country to work with dancers in the disciplines of Ballet, Modern Dance, Musical Theatre and Classical Jazz.

The workshop will be held July 1-26 and is available to dancers ages 8 and up.

Each week dancers will study classical ballet and one other discipline.

We will accept a TOTAL of 40 dancers for the entire program so as not to over-crowd our classes. It is very important to me that the dancers receive as much attention as possible.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: STAND Performing Arts Ministry is a non-profit 501(c)3 that is dedicated to encouraging kids in the gifts and talents God has given them. At STAND, we believe that we are Created to Create, therefore we empower kids in their identity by encouraging them to be all that they are created to be. Our Staff not only consists of amazing, dedicated, and relational teachers that love Christ and the kids, but they also excel in their professions through years of musical, theatre, or dance experience and education. Through this foundation, STAND Summer Camps are designed to provide a fun and safe place for kids to express themselves, and a supportive environment to learn from professionals while working toward an end product.
