CAMP FACILITIES: We are a day camp that takes place in our very own dance studio.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: STAND Performing Arts Ministry is a non-profit 501(c)3 that is dedicated to encouraging kids in the gifts and talents God has given them. At STAND, we believe that we are Created to Create, therefore we empower kids in their identity by encouraging them to be all that they are created to be. Our Staff not only consists of amazing, dedicated, and relational teachers that love Christ and the kids, but they also excel in their professions through years of musical, theatre, or dance experience and education. Through this foundation, STAND Summer Camps are designed to provide a fun and safe place for kids to express themselves, and a supportive environment to learn from professionals while working toward an end product.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: As a non-profit, we do not want to turn away any kid from an opportunity to know Christ better and express themselves in community with other peers. Please contact our staff about filling out a scholarship form if necessary.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: In the fall, we have regular nightly classes as well! We also have full-length musicals that we put on each semester. Auditions and class options for Fall 2023 are upcoming and TBD on scheduling.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
We charge a $50 fee upon registration. Our one-week camps each have a flat tuition rate of $125, and our two-week camps are a flat $250. For all of our one and two-week camp options, see our website!

CAMP FACILITIES: We have access to all university stages and rehearsal halls and studios as well as the university pool.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: CAP Intensive faculty is made up of theater professionals, Broadway veterans and university faculty from some of the top college musical theatre programs in Texas and the mid-west. FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Associate CAP Intensive Director and Professor Becky Fredrickson will lead a session especially designed for parents to help them understand the ins and outs of the complicated college audition/application process. CPA & Certified Financial Planner Doug Bryan will present a seminar for parents on financial planning for college education. Both these are free to parents with their student's registration and are highly informative.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Over eight years, we have assisted students prepare for college auditions and seen dozens of camp alumni accepted to such prestigious programs as NYU Tisch, Pace, Belmont, CCM, Rider, Michigan, Oklahoma University, Oklahoma City University, Texas State U., Texas Tech, TCU, UT Arlington, Sam Houston State U., Samford U., University of Central Oklahoma, Abilene Christian U., and many more.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
$3,500 includes all room/board for both weeks, as well as all activities and events. During camp, students will create their video pre-screens, headshots, work on song & monologue selection, resumes and application essays. CAP Intensive students will also perform in a showcase for guest artists Ken Davenport & Rachel Hoffman which will include a Q&A session. CAMP FACILITIES: When "The Heart" was first built, it was a resort hotel, so all our "tepees" have central air-conditioning. Campers under 12 live in the original hotel, 4-5 girls per room with a counselor, indoor plumbing. Older girls live in dormitory-style "tepees" with 10-12 girls and 2-3 counselors per room, indoor plumbing. All bunk beds are twin size.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Heart O' the Hills has been a summer camp for girls since 1953. Director Jane Ragsdale was a camper herself who always wanted to run a camp. She became program director when she was 21, and after 12 summers in that role, became director. 2015 was her 50th consecutive summer to be at camp in some capacity.

We offer two- and four-week sessions. All campers are asked to take Red Cross swim lessons, field sports and horseback riding. There is a list of some 50 electives that campers can choose from to round out their schedules, so there is something for everyone--from the most athletic to the most creative. The emphasis is on learning new skills in a fun environment.

New campers draw from a hat to determine tribe affiliation. The friendly competitive spirit of the tribes are infectious!

Campers leave their electronics at home and learn to live and relate to each other the old fashioned way.

Counselors arrive a minimum of one week before campers to take skills certification courses and learn all about how The Heart operates.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Heart LITes are too old to be campers but haven't had a year of college, so don't qualify to be counselors. They may apply to come as volunteers.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: SMC is designed for singers and modern rock band instrumentalists. Our vocalist track will teach students proper breathing and singing techniques, using chorale, show tunes, and a cappella pieces. Anne Marie currently is music/fine arts teacher at Moore Elementary School in Arlington and is also an associate director of the Arlington Children's Chorus. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: SALT (Service and Leadership Training) campers will have the opportunity to serve the greater camp community while learning ways to engage others in team building initiatives, problem solving, communication and servant-hood. Putting leadership skills into actions, SALT campers will be partially responsible for the mini-campers and will help with the daily ministry operations of the camp. High ropes, including the zip-line and power pole as well as mountain biking, along with other traditional camp activities round out the week of fun and spiritual growth as a SALT participant.

Gilmont Interns participate in a two week camp experience. The first week, they participate with the SALT program and the second week they serve more in an assistant counselor role. If participant is 16 years old the first day of camp, they must have gone through the SALT program. Interns learn teaching techniques; go through discussions in delivery of low ropes course initiatives; help plan and deliver vesper services with guidance from the Spiritual Adviser; plan and teach with one other intern and program staff activities in the second week; take part in and understand all specialty camps; and, discover the fun and responsibilities of becoming a counselor.

Each two-week session will focus on a new topic, the opportunity to work with one of three age-groups at camp, and will provide an off-campus trip.

LITs will also have the opportunity to partake in special camp electives created just for them! Under the supervision of the LIT Assistant Director, LITs will meet as a group regularly to attend workshops planned especially for that session’s theme. Upon successful completion of the LIT Program, participants will receive a minimum of 45 community service hours and are eligible for a higher rate of pay as Assistant Counselors at Camp Shalom.

Awards of financial assistance are made possible for community members by generous contributions to the Jewish Federation of Greater Austin Annual Campaign and other philanthropic gifts to the JCC.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This year we will again bring guest faculty from around the country to work with dancers in the disciplines of Ballet, Modern Dance, Musical Theatre and Classical Jazz.

The workshop will be held July 1-26 and is available to dancers ages 8 and up.

Each week dancers will study classical ballet and one other discipline.

We will accept a TOTAL of 40 dancers for the entire program so as not to over-crowd our classes. It is very important to me that the dancers receive as much attention as possible.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Joshua’s Stage is the premiere enrichment program for individuals with a wide range of special needs, featuring after-school programs, camps, workshops, and more including activities in theater arts, arts and crafts, dance, music, photography, and create-a-story. Participants enrolled in programs at Joshua’s Stage have the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, increase their self-confidence, and build their social skills in a warm and welcoming environment. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our summer camps Rio Vista for boys and Sierra Vista for girls offer over 40 exciting and challenging activities that campers choose from. Every camper gets to choose 8 or 9 activities depending on the term that make up their personalized schedule. This allows each camper to focus on the activities and skills he/she is most interested in developing. Horseback Riding and Swimming classes are assigned according to skill level and some sports are also divided by age and skill level. We want campers to learn skills, and have fun in a safe supervised environment while interacting with other campers and staff. Classes are approximately one hour and campers will participate in two or three activities in the mornings depending on the term and two in the afternoons, alternating four or five on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and another four or five on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our 17 year olds who are too old to be a camper but not yet counselor age have the opportunity to join the C.I.T. Program where they will learn leadership skills, teaching ideas, and have a great time transitioning into counselors.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Ages 4-8, Students will be split into skill-based groups. Dancers will learn the basics of ballet, study different ballet tales containing fairies, eat healthy snacks provided by Tapestry and experiment with creativity as they design a final day performance.Please send your student with a healthy lunch. Students should wear a leotard and tights or some sort of comfortable, easy to move in dance wear with ballet shoes. You must fill out a registration form on your first day of camp.
