CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Students are placed in a band according to their age and skill level and the requirements of ensemble playing, teamwork, and achievement of musical objectives are stressed. Depending on the ability level, the development of original material is strongly encouraged. Each weekly session culminates in a public performance and the recording of a CD.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Bach to Rock in Leawood, KS provides music lessons for students of all ages and skill levels living in, but not limited to, Leawood, Overland Park, Prairie Village, Lenexa, Olathe, Belton, Grandview & Lee's Summit. Instruments we teach include guitar, piano, drums, voice, violin, trumpet & more! We are also the home of Beat Refinery DJ School which offers Mixing, Scratching, and Music Production classes. B2R birthday parties and seasonal camps are great opportunities to play & learn music with your friends and make new ones! We also have early childhood classes for toddlers and preschoolers. Take your skills to the next level in a Glee Club or Rock Band. B2R offers opportunities for students to perform in venues around Johnson County & Kansas City.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Bach To Rock (“B2R”) America’s Music School for students of all ages is currently seeking a Rock Band and Ensemble Coach to work as a part-time employee providing music and performance lessons to students in rock bands and ensembles.

B2R Band Instructors teach small groups of young musicians to collaborate, listen, and work together as a successful band that performs and records. Teachers for B2R Bands embrace a philosophy of well-balanced music education to inspire students to perform the music they love with a group of their peers at local venues.

Bach to Rock offers the opportunity to work a flexible part-time schedule in a fun environment with other like-minded musicians. We handle the marketing, scheduling, booking, billing, and other business aspects of the lessons & group classes so that you can focus on teaching. B2R teachers are provided with the Bach to Rock curriculum, equipment, and space so they have everything they need to deliver successful and effective instruction.

CAMP FACILITIES: Students will live alongside and share multi-person suites with other students of the same gender. Men and women will live in separate sections of the building; trained counselors will be on-site 24 hours a day. Suites include clean linens, blankets, towels for each participant, along with private bathrooms and showers. Kansas State University features some of the finest dining facilities in the country. Students will be able to have meals tailored to any dietary restrictions and the Institute will cover all meals during their stay.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Summer Choral Institute is a nationally renowned leadership and choral music training program. All singers will live on the campus of Kansas State University for the duration of the Institute, study with our internationally renowned faculty in rehearsals and private lessons, attend leadership training activities including a high ropes challenge course, visit museums, and experience many other multi-disciplinary activities. The Institute culminates with a concert performance and recognition luncheon on the final day.

The leadership staff of SCI are among the top performers and educators in their respective fields including Emmy and Grammy award-winners, professors, educators, and professional musicians.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: All accepted students will receive a full scholarship covering all costs along with a $1,000 college scholarship to Kansas State University.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each student will participate in:

• A large ensemble—which will workshop and give the world premiere of a new work by one of the mentor composers
• A small ensemble—which will co-create, rehearse, and premiere new work(s) by the student participants
• A small home group—which will feature games and social activities
• (Optional) Two, hour-long private composition les- sons—which will give students professional feedback on their music and personalized instruction
• A final, virtual concert—on Friday, July 31, 2 PM EDT

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We desire to make it possible for everyone who wants to join us to be able to participate regardless of family finances. We have a limited amount of funds available. Please email for more information.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Technology Requirements:

• Desktop or laptop computer (Mac preferred)
• A separate device to record audio/video (such as a tablet or smartphone)
• Headphones or earbuds
• An external microphone and audio interface would provide a better experience, but are not mandatory
• All enrolled students will receive a FREE, 90-day license for Dorico Pro 3.5
